DIY No Sew Angel Tree Topper

So every year I love to see the angel on top of the tree. I know many people do stars, or bows, but something about that angel on a 6 ft or taller tree makes me feel watched over. My family has used an angel as long as I can remember. So this year, even though I have limited money to start decorating my home, I made it work for just a dollar! (plus some fabric scraps and trims) Here is how.

I got the doll at the Dollar Tree. She looked pretty cheap, but I fixed that right up! I did her hair in a bun and tied a ribbon around it in a cute bow. Then I popped off her bottom half and replaced it with a paper cone and hot glued it all in place. Then I made the top and glued it on her. I made sure it wouldn’t ride down with a bit more glue. For the skirt I just glued more fabric in bunches all over the cone, then tucked the excess under the bottom and glued in place. And because modesty is very important to me I made her a little shawl out of another fabric scrap. I glued it all over the place so it would stay. Then I added a little extra fabric to the back to cover excess paper and added some trim to the waist for a little pizazz. A little bow on the front completes the look! If you want you can add wings, but my gramma always told me real angels don’t need wings to fly so I left them off. She looks so beautiful up there on the tree! Enjoy making your easy no sew angel tree topper!
